On behalf of Vector Foiltec GmbH, Textil Bau produced the elaborate intermediate roof of the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi and supervised its installation. The total area of the 88 PVC cushions made of PVC-coated polyester fabric type 3 is 22,700 m². This impressive area was produced over a period of just three months in three shifts per day and completed on schedule.

The roof of the Olympic Stadium above the spectator stands, which has a capacity for 40,000 spectators, was constructed by Vector Foiltec using ETFE cushions. In keeping with the modern overall design of the stadium and in order to reduce the steel substructure to a minimum, the membrane construction of the intermediate roof produced by Textil Bau was also designed as a pneumatic construction. The coating on the upper sides of the cushions is silver in colour, as are the ETFE cushions. The underside of the cushions was kept black so that the entire stage technology remains hidden from the spectators' view.
