The advantages of membrane structures made of silicone-coated fibreglass fabric are similar to those made of PVC-coated fabrics with PVDF coating. They also have a long average service life of around 30 years, excellent UV resistance and are slightly dirt-repellent due to their coating. The material's fire rating is also B1 according to DIN 4102, allowing for a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications. The fibreglass support fabric enables a higher light transmission of 12%–18% to be achieved. Membrane structures with silicone-coated fibreglass fabric are mainly used for permanent structures.
