Cottbus Building Management commissioned Textil Bau with the complex construction of a sun protection facade for the new Regional and Cottbus Start-up Centre on campus – RCGC for short. This includes 116 angled and flat elements for shading, as well as awnings, roller blinds and blackout curtains for additional protection from the sun.

The shading elements, which measure up to 20 m², are Facid frames covered with mesh. The installers attached these to a steel substructure. The two-tone facade is inspired by the white and red flag of the state of Brandenburg.

We are delighted that the start-up centre, designed by architects Bernd Huckriede, Jens Brinkmann and Ludwig Heimbach, has won the BIG SEE Architecture Award 2024!
