Gasometer Berlin

Gasometer Berlin

Textil Bau completed the roofing of the gasometer in Berlin Schöneberg in record time for the ARD television programme ‘Günter Jauch’.

In no time at all, we put together a team that was up to this demanding task.

Thanks to our experience and targeted coordination, as well as the extraordinary commitment of all companies involved, we were able to ensure the live broadcast of the first episode of Günther Jauch on 11 September 2011 from the Berlin Gasometer.

The roof consists of a single-layer PES/PVC membrane, which was attached to the existing Schöneberg gasometer in accordance with monument preservation guidelines and is held in place solely by the internal pressure in the gasometer.

In addition to various preliminary studies, structural analysis, membrane fabrication, production and assembly, Textil Bau also coordinated the approval process in individual cases with the Berlin Senate.
