IMPULS light art stage

IMPULS light art stage

The concept for the stage and light installation IMPULS by Lars Meeß-Olsohn at Konrad-Adenauer-Platz, which won an award in the nationwide competition ‘StandortInnenstadt.NRW’, symbolises the vibrant life of Bochum and defines the starting point of the 'Bermuda3Eck' as the living heart of the city (realised as part of the Bochum Capital of Culture project, Ruhr 2010) .

A playful approach to concentric steel rings and LED light strips resulted in the development of a lightweight stage construction that marks the dynamic starting point of the 'Bermuda3Eck' and enables events ranging from cabaret to concerts by the Bochum Symphony Orchestra.

Textil Bau supplied and installed the roof covering with white PES/PVC fabric, as well as the black stage backdrop and a side weather protection made of matt black A-Lutte. The Lutte fabric was chosen as a robust alternative to classic stage molton due to its connection to mining (use in ventilation systems). A rope net installed at the side provides additional protection for the stage area and rounds off the composition.
